Hi, I'm Dr. Scott Ngai !

Board Certified Diplomate Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Scott Ngai is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Ngai was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. He attended UC Berkeley and graduated with dual bachelor’s degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology and Public Health. As a student-athlete, he played collegiate lacrosse for Cal for all four years. At UC Berkeley, Dr. Ngai was an Undergraduate Student Instructor for the Health Medical Apprenticeship Program teaching over 500 students per semester, and was a clinical researcher for the Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute.

After college, Dr. Ngai attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, where he was an exceptional student receiving straight A’s in his clinical studies. Dr. Ngai also served as the student President of the California Dental Association. Dr. Ngai graduated with High Honors and was awarded Dr. Charles, Charles Jr., and Joe Sweet Award for “Superior Proficiency in the Field of Dentistry for Children” as well as the Hinman Symposium Research Award. He is also a published author for his dental materials research when working for the American Dental Association and National Institute of Health in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Dr. Ngai was able to combine his dentistry skills and his love of working with children by completing a pediatric dental residency at UCLA’s Ronald Reagan Medical Center (US News and Report’s Best Hospital of the West). This program included extensive training in full-mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia, after-hours traumatic emergencies, and providing comprehensive dental care to children and people with special needs. He currently maintains his hospital privileges and is a clinical professor at both University of the Pacific and UCLA’s Ronald Reagan Medical Center, where he teaches dental students and residents.

Volunteering and giving back to the community have always been one of Dr. Ngai ’s many passions. In high school, he earned scouting’s highest honor in becoming an Eagle Scout utilizing his leadership skills to lead his scouts in community projects.

Dr. Ngai has personally organized and led dental mission trips to Peru, Fiji, and Honduras, where served as the lead doctor to dental students in providing dental treatment to communities that did not have access to dental care. Dr. Ngai continues to give back to the local community as a Rotarian in the Santa Clara Rotary Club.

Dr. Ngai is a proud and active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and Santa Clara County Dental Society.

Dr. Ngai is a past president of the Santa Clara Pedodontic Academy and currently sits on the New Membership Committee of the Santa Clara County Dental Society welcoming new graduating doctors into our beautiful community.
